Whigmaleerie Ceilidh Band have played at numerous types of
events throughout Aberdeenshire & Scotland |

Whigmaleerie are a five-piece Ceilidh Dance Band born and formed in
Aberdeenshire, Scotland in the last century which this century, has
matured into the perfect Ceilidh Dance Band for every occasion.
With over 25 years experience as a Ceilidh Band in the North East of
Scotland, Whigmaleerie's blend of drums; fiddle;
keyboards; guitars; and vocals gives them a contemporary sound, drawn on
the traditional music of Scotland, Ireland and England.
Being a
totally live band, not relying on 'backing tracks' to enhance their
sound, gives Whigmaleerie the flexibility to integrate and participate
with their audience and gives a relaxing, fun loving feel to any event
where they perform. |

Whigmaleerie's selection of music and songs are not purely traditional
Ceilidh however as can be seen by viewing their
Play List, but
offer a selection of titles from the 1950's through to the present day
covers. This gives a wide variety of music to which anyone can dance to
at your wedding, function, or corporate event and offers splendid
entertainment for all ages and tastes.

THAN JUST A CEILIDH BAND |

On the Ceilidh front, Whigmaleerie play and call all the popular
Scottish country dances such as Eightsome Reels, Gay Gordons, Strip the
Willow, Canadian Barn Dance, The Virginia Reel, Dashing White Sergeant
and many, many more.
Calling the dances helps all those in the audience not familiar with the
steps to have a go and primarily have fun. In addition, we also play a
selection of traditional music from Ireland and Scotland which is always
well received. But! that's not all, we also cover pop, rock, country and
we even have our own 'Whigmaleerie Disco' if required - Something
for Everyone! |

Although based near Aberdeen, in the heart of Aberdeenshire, Whigmaleerie have performed at literally
hundreds of festivals, marquees, events, weddings, private parties and ceilidhs.
From Inverness, Elgin, Perth and Dundee for example, and many other
locations in Scotland and the UK, (see
Wedding and Function Venues) and our lively, energetic music coupled
with our on and off-stage humour, makes us popular wherever we perform.
